Dear Bob's Family:  When I first joined the Bloomfield Township PD in, I think, 1974, Bob was assigned as my training officer.  He was an awesome police officer and I learned sooo much from him.  We spent many, many hours together in the patrol car and I will never forget all that he did for me.  My fondest memory of Bob (and he did swear me to total secrecy about the event) was us driving down the road with both of us singing "Ou E Ou Ah Ah Ting Tang Walla Walla Bing Bang" from the song Purple People Eater.  Rest in peace my dear friend.  I still miss you.

LOYALTY is the one word that would describe Bob Valenti. First and formost he was loyal to his wife Karen and his daughters, then he was loyal to the United States Navy, and of course to the Township of Bloomfield for his 29 years, but to everyone who could call him friend, he was especially loyal.  Once when Bob was the union president, he negotiated a contract with then Chief Robert Snell, and after the intense negotiations the chief referred to Bob as a level headed man who could be trusted, and I was always impressed with the chief's characterization of Bob. As others have said, you could always count on your first Christmas greeting card arriving in your mailbox coming from Bob. While our loss is great, Kim and Cindy's loss is even much more.  May God bless your families as you lean on him to help you through this time of grief.

Kim, Cindy and to "Uncle Bob's" extended family. Sorry for you loss and the grief you are feeling. Your dad was one of the best men I have had the pleasure to come in contact with. Just a solid human being all around. Great husband, father, friend, uncle, etc....the list goes on and on. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Kim I am so sorry for you and your family's loss.  I am sorry I can not make it to honor Bob, but I know so many others will.  He was one of the best leaders we had at the department, was always fair in his decisions and an all around great person.  I really enjoyed working with and for him. Dear Kim, Cindy and Ken, When I first met you dad, he scared the heck out of me. As I spent more time with him, I could see thru his shell and realized he was stern but so loving.  He will be missed. Praying that he will reunite with your mom and live on forever.  May the memories live on in everyone's hearts, even Anthony's. Oh the stories we will share with him :) We'll be here to support you today, tomorrow and always.

I'm very sorry to hear about Bob's passing.  He was a total pleasure to serve with and a wonderful man.  Many blessings to you, Kim and to Cindy.

Bob will undoubtedly be missed the big gentle giant has a wonder place with his beloved Karen. Both were just too young to leave us. My heartfelt sympathies to Kim, Cindy, and all the family and friends who had the honor of knowing Bob❤

Dear Kim & Cindy~  We are so sorry to hear about your dad's passing.  Bob was truly one of the "good guys" and we know how much he will be missed.  Just remember that now Karen has her heart mate.  Unfortunately we are not able to attend the services as we are still in Florida and not due home until May 1st.  However, we want you to know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
