Steven Michael Mowry, age 57, of Madison Heights, Michigan, passed away on July 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Steve was born on June 27, 1968, in Detroit, Michigan. A dedicated and hardworking man, he spent 24 years with Chrysler as a supervisor, earning the respect of colleagues through his leadership, loyalty, and steady work ethic.
Above all, Steve was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to the love of his life, Tammy Mowry, for 34 years. Together, they built a home rooted in love, laughter, and resilience. He was a proud father to Katie Cunningham and the late Jacob Mowry, and a cherished grandpa to his grandson, Oliver Cunningham. Steve is survived by his wife Tammy Mowry; his mother, Delores Mowry; his brother, Tony Mowry; his daughter, Katie; and his grandson, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Jacob, his father Danny Mowry, and his sister Kathy Mowry.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Steve enjoyed watching baseball and football, and he especially loved spending time on the golf course. He was a supportive and encouraging coach, having led his son’s soccer and baseball teams with pride and passion. His greatest joy came from time spent with family—cheering from the sidelines, enjoying a quiet evening at home, or simply being present for those he loved most.
Steve will be remembered for his steady presence, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and deep-rooted values that will live on through those who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Steven will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
The family will greet guests on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, 30351 Dequindre Road, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
Immediately following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Oakview Cemetery, 1032 N Main St, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
Following the cemetery, the family has asked everyone to join them at the Gazebo Banquet Center for lunch.
