Thomas M. Barrett

Thomas M. Barrett age 91, a long time resident of Madison Heights, Michigan, passed away on January 11, 2013. Beloved husband of Anita, loving father of Robert (Phyllis) Barrett, Thomas "Jim" (Linda) Barrett and Mary Jane (Richard) Ward. Dear grandfather of Robert Nancy, Kevin, Michael, Colin and Bryan as well as 8 great grandchildren. Thomas is also survived by Anita's children, Lawrence (Elizabeth) Schurg, Gary (Penny) Schurg and Cindy (Jack) Lockman as well as 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Gertrude Barrett, his siblings Mickey and Rosie, his second wife, Ruth and his first beloved wife who is the mother of his children, Gertrude. Thomas was a decorated WW II veteran who served in the Army Air Force. as a bombardier, completing more than 30 missions in Germany and earning the rank of Major. Visitation Tuesday January 15, 2013 from 3-8 p.m. at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Madison Heights, Michigan. Instate Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10:00 a.m. St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Madison Heights, Michigan.
