Annie Fitzgerald Cash

Born December 16, 1937 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Etta Martin Fitzgerald and was also preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Burnette and four brothers, Jerry, Wilbur, Clyde, and Roy Fitzgerald. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Cash is survived by two sons, Tony C. Cash and wife Nellwyn and Troy A. Cash and wife Susan, all of Madison Heights; one brother, Pete Fitzgerald of Lynchburg; three sisters, Dorothy Burnette and husband Leon of Hurt, and Bessie Shifflett and Betty Gowen, both of Lynchburg; five grandchildren, Kristen Cash, Lauren Cash Campbell and husband Adam, Carmen Cash, Hunter Cash, and Mackenzie Cash and three great grandchildren, Colton Campbell, Cayleigh Campbell, and Madeline Elizabeth.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Cash’s wonderful caregivers, Dee Dee Hitt, Whitney Hitt, Autumn Craig, Amy Watson, Tracy Hamm and Seven Hills Hospice.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Carlton Dunn, Sr. and the Rev. A.T. Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2013 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
