Anthony (Tony) Vincent Ciccarello passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning, March 7,2023. Anthony was born on May 10, 1950 in New York City, the second son of the late Joseph Philip Ciccarello and Pasqualina Frasca Ciccarello. His family moved to then-rural Montvale,New Jersey, where Anthony enjoyed a childhood on the family farm. While attending La Salle University in Philadelphia he met his future wife, Jeanette Vitali,at a college dance. After relocating to Alexandria, VA, he became the proud owner of a Hess Service Station, while in his 20s. Following his marriage to Jeanette in 1972, they bought a beautiful property with an apple orchard and natural springs in the foothills of Amherst,VA.
An independent spirit, he lived an active lifestyle, which included working out and planning projects to maintain the property. Water was an important interest: he loved the natural springs on the property, swimming in lakes and oceans, beach visits, and building solutions to live off the land. After having children, Anthony took up running a few distance races per year, which was a new challenge to his fitness. Anthony enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He retired as an Electrical and Instrumentation Designer, after 30 years of professional services at the Invista Lycra Company, Waynesboro.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanette Vitali Ciccarello, along with: son Philip Ciccarello (Adrienne) of Charlotte, NC, daughter, Laura Ciccarello of Manhattan, NY, granddaughters, Penelope and Adeline Ciccarello of Charlotte, NC, brother Nicholas Ciccarello (Gail) of Franklin, NY and sister, Antonia Ciccarello Lewis (Craig) of Pennington, NJ, a large extended family and many devoted friends.
