

Arnold Lee “Doc” Holliday, 64, of Amherst, passed away, Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Judy Hill Holliday.
Born September 29, 1946 in Charmco, West, Virginia, he was the son of the late John Viro Holliday and Edna Mills Cox and was also preceded in death by one son, Nathan Lee Holliday. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Navigator on the OV-1 Mohawk with the 131st Aviation Company.
In addition to his wife, “Doc” is survived by two sons, Anthony V. Holliday (Teresa) and Jonathan E. Holliday (Kim Myers), all of Amherst; one brother, Tex Holliday of Pulaski; two sisters, Linda Holliday Taylor (Mike) and Rosetta Holliday Bain (Barrett), both of Dublin; six grandchildren, Cody, Landon, Alexis, and Leslie Holliday, Krista Hennessey, and Jesse Arnold and many “special adopted” grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow in Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
