Aubrey Earl Staton

Aubrey Earl Staton, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at Runk & Pratt Residential Adult Care. He was the husband of the late Alice Juanita Falwell Staton.
Born April 9, 1923 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Amon Ezra and Gracie Moon Staton and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Woodie, John, William, George, and Bunk Staton and one sister, Nellie S. Sawyer. Mr. Staton was retired from Babcock & Wilcox. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was also a retired Staff Sargent with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church, the Air Force Assoc., and American Legion Post 16.
Mr. Staton is survived by one aunt, Myrtle Yates of Danville and many special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Todd Blake officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Westminster Canterbury Memory Center and the Runk & Pratt Memory Center for their wonderful care.
