

Aubrey Nathaniel “Boe” Tyree, 85, of Madison Heights, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Fairmont Crossing. He was the devoted husband of Audrey Riley Tyree for more than sixty-two years.
Born June 8, 1926 in Amherst County, he was a son of the late Norman and Margaret Turner Tyree and was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Tyree; brother, Norman “Sam” Tyree, and three sisters, Nora Linebarger, Lillie Baker, and Lois Straw. Mr. Tyree was retired from Lynchburg Foundry and was a U.S. Army veteran, 87th Infantry, Golden Acorns, where he served during World War II. He was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Aubrey Wayne Tyree and the Rev. Steve Douglas Tyree, both of Madison Heights; a daughter, Margaret T. Harding and husband, the Rev. William Harding of Cary, NC; two brothers, Homer Tyree and Howard “Pete” Tyree, both of Madison Heights; sister, Phyllis Wright, also of Madison Heights; three grandchildren, Stephanie Tyree, Samantha Tyree, and Susan Tyree; a step-grandson, Scott Harding and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Madison Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Blake, the Rev. Steve Tyree, and the Rev. William Harding officiating. Interment with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the residence.
