

Born August 20, 1933, in Meherrin, VA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Evie Atwell Hailey. She also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jesse, Frank, Roy and Willie Hailey; and 3 sisters, Belle Kinchen, Helen Echols, and Nellie Parsons.
She was a member of Amelon UMC, and was retired from CVTC after 25 years of service.
Survivors include two sons, Claude W. Dix Jr. and wife Deborah, of Madison Heights, and Roy L. Dix and wife Teresa, of Monroe; two sisters, Catherine H. Smith, of Madison Heights, and Lillie H. Layne, of TX; three grandchildren, Sean Dix and wife Tara, Jesse and Hailey Dix; three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mikayla, and Parker Dix; devoted niece, Judy Forbes, and blessed with many friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and at other times at the residence of Ms. Audrey Dix.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, by Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
