Born October 1, 1932 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Aubrey and Virginia Mays Riley and was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Tyree. Mrs. Tyree was a retired secretary with Central Virginia Training Center. She was a member of Madison Heights Baptist Church, where she served as a leader for the Sunbeams, member of the choir, a Sunday School Teacher, and as a Deacon of the Church.
Mrs. Tyree is survived by three children, Aubrey Wayne Tyree of Madison Heights, Margaret Harding and husband William of Cary, NC, and Steve D. Tyree of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Stephanie Tyree, Samantha Stratton and husband John, Susan Tyree, and Scott Harding; two great-grandchildren, Arabella Stratton and Colter Stratton and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Tyree’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Madison Heights Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Todd Blake, The Rev. Steve Tyree, The Rev. William Harding, and The Rev. Margaret Harding officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill memorial Park.
The family will receive friends, at the church, prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and other times at the Tyree residence.
Due to Covid-19 and for everyone’s safety, everyone is encouraged to wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all services.
