
Born August 16, 1932 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Carrington Reynolds Sr., and Nellie Schmitt Reynolds.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lyle, Bobby, and Roy Reynolds; and a sister, Gladys Reynolds. She was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Angela Smith Bryant and husband Fred, of Forest, and Debra Spradlin, of Madison Heights; one son, Mark Anthony Smith, of Lynchburg; two sisters, Becky Shy and husband Ken, and Odessa Wright, both of Lynchburg; one aunt, Mabel Gillette, of Lynchburg; and two grandchildren, Christopher Malcolm Bryant, and Sierra Nicole Smith Robertson and husband Josh; and one great-great-grandson on the way, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Whitten Monelison Chapel, and other times at the residence of Fred and Angela Bryant.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Association.
The family would like to thank Dr. Giles and the staff at Amherst Dialysis and of Centra Health for the care given to Mrs. Smith.
