Bobby Alfred Newton

Bobby Alfred Newton, 61, of Madison Heights passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center after a long battle with Leukemia.
Born in Lynchburg, May 16, 1953, he was a son of the late James Alfred Newton and Evelyn Mae Amos Newton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Newton and Donald Newton and two sisters, Bonnie Londeree and Celia Dorsey.
He is survived by his wife, Petty Y. Newton; three sons, Bobby Newton, Jr. of Appomattox, Brian Newton and James Newton and his fiancé Jamie Smith all of Madison Heights; five sisters, Brenda Lindberg and husband Larry, Martha Griffith and husband Dan, Margie Bryant and husband Red, Trudy Sanzere and Nancy Newton; six brothers, Clyde Newton and wife Sandra, Steve Newton, Sr. and wife Mary, Dell Newton, Ben Lang and wife Jo, James Newton, Jr. and Aubrey Newton; seven grandchildren, Donovan, Tori, Alonna, Conner, Dakota, Cheyanne and Maci-ann and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend, Donnie Tyree.
Bobby loved racing. He was and avid NASCAR fan and also loved helping his sons with their race cars at the Natural Bridge Speedway and dirt track.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Meade Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
