Carolyn Proffitt Jennings

Born June 14 1938 in Arrington, she was a daughter of the late Chester E. Proffitt and Lois Cash Proffitt. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was retired from Central Virginia Training Center after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her sister Sarah Jane Proffitt Hughes (Ted), two sons, Larry R. Jennings (Kim), G. Michael Jennings (Charlotte), and a daughter Carolyn J. Ashwell (Earl); eight grandchildren, Lindsay Phillips (Joe), Heidi Curd (Robert), Brad Jennings, Ashley Jennings, Zach Ashwell (Michelle), Dustin Jennings, Brett Ashwell, and Devin Ashwell; three great grandchildren, Dylan Phillips, Peyton Ashwell, and William Curd.

Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Whitten Monelison Chapel by Rev. John P. Campbell. The family will receive friends immediately after the service has concluded.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all those who helped care for Fay, especially Josephine Nappier, Vicky Litchford, Carla Litchford, and Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
