

Born on November 15, 1963, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Jody was the son of the late Charles “Chili” H. Hubbard and Shelby Jean “Duck” Hubbard. Known affectionately by many as “Grumpy,” Jody enjoyed the simple things in life and spending time with those closest to him.
Jody absolutely loved hunting and was a proud member of Red Oak Hunting Club for more than 40 years. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, going to yard sales, and collecting antiques. In addition to these things, Jody loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and attending their baseball games.
Jody is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Connie D. Hubbard; two daughters, Christy Breeding (Clayton) and Jessica Viar (Wade); his sister, Vickie Sandifer (Danny); four grandchildren, Logan Breeding, Isaac Breeding, Addalyn Viar, and Ian Viar; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Stone; father-in-law, Wayne Dunning (Hilda) and family; brother-in-law, JW Dunning (Brenda); and their children, Justine and Lelia.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Briarwood Memorial Gardens, with Cynthia Branham officiating.
