Born May 31, 1926 in Bluefield, W. VA, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Beatrice Ford Williams and was preceded in death her brother, Thomas Eugene “Willie” Williams. Mrs. Turner was a retired Plant Supervisor with C&P Telephone Company and was a member and former Chaplain of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughter, Linda Gayle Gilbert and husband Richard of Madison Heights; two grandchildren, Dana Jackson (Steve) Jonathan Gilbert and two great grandchildren, Taylor Andrew Jackson and Zachary Thomas Jackson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021 at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour, prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Anyone who knew her, knows Mrs. Turner’s favorite color was pink. The family requests, if possible, please wear pink, that is the color of the day.
