He was born on January 19, 1956 in Tazwell County, son of the late George W. Mitchell and the late Elsie B. Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry R. Mitchell.
Curtis retired from Lynchburg Steel & Specialty Company after 37 years. He was a devoted son, having looked after his mother until her passing in 2016. He enjoyed staying in touch with his friends and former co-workers through the computer and Facebook.
Left to cherish his memory are two brothers, Kenneth L. Mitchell and wife Kathy and Randy W. Mitchell and wife Donna; two sisters, Shirley M. Anderson and husband Dennis and Wanda M. Carson and husband Milton. Curtis is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Friday, June 17, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Briarwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mickey Ryan officiating.
