Danny Ray Hughes

Born August 19, 1962, in Lynchburg, he was a son of Emmett and Frances Cofer Hughes, of Madison Heights. He was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Hughes.

He was employed at Automatic Conveyor Systems, and was a former employee of Waytec. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Danny enjoyed hunting, and fishing, and was a member of the Big Island Hunt and Fishing Club. He loved playing horseshoes, winning numerous trophies including a state championship in his class, in 2008.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Randy D. Hughes and wife Sharon, of Amherst; his sister, Charlene Hughes Padgett and husband Larry, of Madison Heights; special cousin, Chub Dalton, of Madison Heights; his best-friend, Billy Irvin, of Madison Heights. He was a loving uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the funeral home, by the Rev. Kirk Farmer. Interment will follow in Meade Cemetery, with a special prayer by the Rev. Jacob Uthup.
