Darnell Rose Goff Johns

Darnell Rose Goff Johns, 69, of Rustburg passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jerry Wayne Johns, Sr. Born September 4, 1951, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Glover Daniel Goff, Jr. and the late Ruby Aileen Price Goff.

Darnell was a retired inspector for Archer Creek Foundry and a member of Faith Baptist Church of Rustburg. She was a victorious breast-cancer survivor.

In addition to her husband and parents, Darnell was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammy Langford and Jimmy Langford; and a grandson, Christopher Woolf.

Darnell is survived by her son, Ellis Tyree and his wife Christian of Hurt; stepson, Jerry Johns, Jr. and his wife Paula of Douglas, GA; three sisters, Vivian Huffman and her husband Billy of Rustburg, Carolyn Wooten and her husband Mike of Spout Spring and Elgie Harvey and her husband David Farmer of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Nicholas Tyree, Matthew Tyree, Penelope Tyree and Ashley Johns; special niece, Delores Ferguson; special friends Becky Cyrus and Debbie Langley; her special animal companions, Sprinkles and Blackie; and other loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Cynthia Branham, Rev. Lee Dittman and Pastor Bellew officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church in Rustburg.

My best friend, we have known each other since 7th grade and talked over the years about everything. Don't know how I will make it but the Love for you and the Lord will see me through. So sorry to read of Darnell passing, worked with her at Archer Creek for 35yrs such a dedicated worker and a lady who loved God and her family more than anything.
