She was born in Lynchburg on February 11, 1963, daughter of the late Albert B. Martin, Jr. and the late Irene M. Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister & best friend, Teresa Irby.
Debbie had a great love of cats and was a friend to everyone she met but most importantly she was a doting grandmother. There is nothing more in the world she loved more than her “grandbabies” and she let everyone she met know it. Many people knew Debbie’s face from her 40 years spent at Hardees in Madison Heights. When she wasn’t working she was a devoted caregiver and cook. She loved to cook and feed people; nobody could go hungry in her house. She loved her cats, tie-dyed t-shirts and coffee in the morning.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hillary E. Lane; a daughter, Brandy R. Wright and husband Stuart; a brother and his wife, Johnny Martin and Kay Fritzinger; two grandchildren, Arabella and Aiden as well as three nieces, Dixie, Savannah and Sarah, who was like a second daughter to her.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
