Diane Ruth Capobianco

October 9, 1945 – November 13, 2024
Obituary of Diane Ruth Capobianco
IN THE CARE OF

Whitten Monelison Chapel

Diane R. Capobianco, 79, of Madison Heights, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Born on October 9, 1945, in Queens, New York, Diane was the daughter of Lewis and Estell Schreiber. She was predeceased by her husband, John Paul Capobianco, and her brother, Lenny Schreiber.

Diane was a woman of many talents and passions. A gifted artist, she found beauty in the smallest details and shared her creations with those she knew. Her connection to nature was profound, reflected in her joy for the outdoors and the pride she took in her koi fish pond, where her "huge fish" became a favorite sight for visitors.

As a member of the Lynchburg Gemologist Club, Diane delighted in rock digs and exploring the treasures of the earth. She also enjoyed spontaneous day trips with her dear friend Jan, always seeking new adventures and experiences. Her loyal dog, Libby, was a constant source of comfort and love in her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Alysun A. Capobianco and Christine Thorne (Dennis); her stepson, Joseph Capobianco (Pattie); her sister, Barbara Byrd (Carol); six grandchildren, Alexa Fleshman, Shauna Joseph (Brandon), Michael Thorne, Brian Thorne, Joseph Capobianco (Georgia), and Matthew Capobianco; and five great-grandchildren, Aria, Adelyn, Rhea, and Ellis. Diane's love extended to numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

The family is being assisted by Whitten Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Monelison Chapel.
