

Born in Lynchburg, March 2, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. "Skin" Woody and Gladys Viar Woody. Dot was well known and well loved in Amherst County, she was a true entrepreneur and remained active in investing and managing real estate all over Amherst County. Dot loved all people and her loyalty to God could never be questioned. She was an avid reader and scholar of the Bible and loved to share her knowledge to all. She was a talented artist, story-teller, and frequently quoted references from the Bible. We know she is at peace and we will see her again in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Anders-Allen; her husbands, Andy Anders and William "Greekie" Macheras and one brother, E.W. Woody.
She is survived by her son, Theodore Gus "Teddy" Macheras and Michelle L. Macheras; two grandchildren, Berkleigh Shae and Brennen Gus, whom she loved dearly; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Woody and his wife Brenda and adjoining family. She is also survived by several very special and devoted friends, Harry Ewers, Doug Baldock, Tony Moshonas, Nancy Bell Carol and Terry Gayle Novak and many others.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2010 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. Charles L. Stinson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dot was a lover of animals. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Amherst County Humane Society P.O. Box 614 318 Shelter Lane Amherst, VA 24521.
