Doris Ann Whittaker, 59, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. Born in Lynchburg on April 29, 1966, she was the beloved daughter of Daniel Whittaker and the late Peggy Jean Humphreys Whittaker.
In addition to her mother, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Eugene Whittaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Langford; her son, Christopher W. Purvis; her life partner, Paul Harris; four sisters, Debbie Ramsey, Lovey Humphreys, Sue Whittaker, and Beth Whittaker; and five cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Purvis, Areanna Sharp, Hunter Werly, Lacey Wehrly, and Terence Wehrly III.
Doris was one of a kind—an inspiring, joyful, and uplifting presence whose warmth touched everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, and her legacy of kindness and strength will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
