Dorothy (Dot) Loving Stinnett, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Everett B. Stinnett.
Born September 10, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Hill Loving, Sr. and the late Helen Coffey Loving. Dot was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer H. Loving, Jr. and Robley D. Loving, and two sisters, Shirley L. Huffman and Helen L. Carroll.
Dot was a devoted member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and retired early from General Electric Co., enjoying many years of traveling, camping and fishing with Everett.
She is survived by a sister, Vera L. Campbell and her husband, Edward, as well as two sisters-in-law, Anne S. Harris and Betty R. Loving. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family members, including two special nieces who lovingly cared for her in recent years, Vicky L. Harris and Donna L. Lange. Dot’s dear and long-time friend, Millie W. Burgess, also held a cherished place in her life.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on January 16, 2025, at Elon Presbyterian Church, 2290 Cedar Gate Rd, Madison Heights Va. with Pastor David Garrison and Pastor Barry Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
