Born October 3, 1931 in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Samuel Carter Bomar and Mary Elizabeth Nichols Bomar and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn B. Talley and Marion B. Moss. Mr. Bomar was a longtime truck driver with Burlington Industries and retired from Great Coastal Trucking Company. He was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Bomar is survived by his daughter, Carolyn B. Wright and husband Bob; his son, Edwin “Ed” C. Bomar, Jr. and wife Lisa, both of Monroe; his daughter/granddaughter, Sandy B. Lewis of Madison Heights; four other special grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Jade, and Ryan and eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Dr. Derik Hamby officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family requests those wishing to bring food to please bring it to the church.
