
Born February 11, 1932 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late James E. and Karin Glass Edgemon and was also preceded in death by one brother, James Edgemon. Earl was a retired metallurgist with B&W and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by two daughters, Karen Hodges of Richmond and Amy Dawson and husband Bill of Amherst; four sisters, Helen Edgemon and Mildred Edgemon, both of Sweet Briar, Shirley Jenkins and husband Junious of Toano, and Betty Edgemon of Monroe; one brother, Billy Edgemon and wife Robbie of Amherst and three grandchildren, Reed Dawson, Reaghan Dawson, and Ryker Dawson.
A graveside service with military honors by American Legion Post 16 will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Amherst Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and other times at the home of his daughter, Amy, 203 Sunset Drive, Amherst.
