Epifanio Gonzalez Jr.

Epifanio “Eppie” Gonzalez, Jr. passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022 in Amherst, VA while visiting family. He was born the seventh of fifteen children to Epifanio and Rosalina. He arrived on February 6, 1958, in the elevator of Southside Hospital in Bayshore, NY.

Eppie graduated from Babylon Jr Sr High School, Babylon, NY and was a U.S. Army veteran. While living in Babylon, he worked for Sears and Tilden, then Kozy Shack, from which he retired.

He was married 39 years to Denise Ball Gonzalez. They resided on Long Island, NY, where he was a Lifetime Member of the Babylon Fire Department, actively serving for 25 years. They retired to the San Diego, CA area. He loved fishing, going to the senior center and spending time with his large, loving family. He collected souvenir shot glasses everywhere he traveled.

Eppie will be remembered for greeting his family with tears and a heart full of love.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Eve Gonzalez and his son, Charles Pannhorst III.

Eppie is survived by his wife Denise Ball Gonzalez of Ramona, CA, his daughters Tobey (Todd) Thurston, Amherst, VA, Tami (Matthew) Sanchez, Ramona, CA, San May Chan, San Diego, CA, grandsons Mark Walker, Logan Wesley, Nico Riley and Wesley Epifanio, as well as a huge, loving family of siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
