

Ernestine “Teeny” Sale Brockman, of Amherst, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late L. Barnes Brockman, Sr. of Amherst and daughter of the late Emmett Sale and Essie Rose Coffey Sale of Pedlar Mills and was also preceded in death by a son, E. Thomas Brockman; a grandson, Bertram Limbrick; her mother and father-in-law, Paul and Nancy Brockman and a brother, Elmer Wayne Sale.
She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Brockman Limbrick of Amherst and Gaye Brockman Duffy of Lynchburg; a son, L. Barnes Brockman, Jr. of Amherst; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Teeny was a member of Amherst Baptist Church, volunteered as a Pink Lady at Virginia Baptist Hospital, helped at Daily Bread, and served as a Den Mother for her son’s Cub Scouts. She was a charter member of the Amherst Women’s Club and a member of Village Garden Club, where she served as President. She loved working in the Garden Club and was known for her beautiful arrangements.
The things that brought her the most pleasure were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was the happiest when they were all together. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. Teeny and Barnes enjoyed traveling all over the world.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. John Gordon officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
