

Born Jan. 19, 1939, in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late Percy Cameron Angus and Christine Ashley Angus Campbell. Mrs. Gowen was a member of keystone Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Sam Angus and David Warren Angus; and a sister, Mary Angus.
Survivors also include her son, Ray A. Bryant and wife Jennifer, of Amherst; a brother, Cameron R. Angus and wife Corene, of Amherst; three sisters, Hazel Burley, and Helen Cooper, of Lynchburg, and Louise Marshall, of Rocky Mount; two sisters-in-law, Pearl Angus, of Gladstone, and Sandra Angus, of Madison Heights; one granddaughter, Corinne Bryant.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Keystone Baptist church, by the Rev. Dr. Monty Fox.
