One of eleven children, Eunice was born May 29, 1923, in Amherst County to the late Mack Manaway Mays and Nettie Coffey Mays. She worked at Ben Franklin as a clerk, and later as a teller at Central Fidelity Bank in Amherst where she retired.
Eunice was a member of Clifford Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on multiple committees. She was a member of the Amherst Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Ageless Wonders, a group of senior citizen performers based in Lynchburg, VA who traveled throughout the country.
Eunice was a wonderful cook who made the best corn pudding. She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables. She walked daily with the Lord. Her deeply rooted faith was evident in her selflessness, love, and compassion for others. She always put her family first, and never forgot a birthday.
She is survived by her son Roy Manaway Cash and daughter Phyllis Cash Campbell (Kifferly), and Donnie Stevens (Mary Ann), Gail S. McGee, and Beth S. Gamble (Mike), siblings Marshal Mays, Mary Jane Campbell, Eva Gowen, Rachel Campbell, and her 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her infant son, James Edward Cash; brothers, Avery, Ray, Herman, Freddie, Clyde, and Mack Mays; her daughter-in-law, Lois A. Cash and son-in-law Harold McGee.

Open times to pay respects will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Clifford Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Amherst Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating.
