

Born on January 23, 1951 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of Lillie Estelle Tomlin and the late Jasper Earl Tomlin.
Eva graduated from Amherst County High School in 1969. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing the piano, all kinds of animals, and reading her bible.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Bennie Mays, Sr.
Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Lillie Tomlin; her children, Bennie Mays Jr. and wife Rita of Nelson County, David Mays and girlfriend Kelly Sutherland of Nelson County, and Jolene Bray and husband Jeremy of Monroe; her six grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, James, Ethan, Aunaka, and Jase; her brothers, Earl Truman Tomlin and wife Doris and Carl Tomlin and wife Cheryl both of Amherst; seven nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, John “Richie” Creasey.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Lynchburg Health and Rehab and to Centra Hospice for their care and compassion during Eva’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Mays Family Cemetery, 759 Tye Brook Highway, Piney River, VA.
