

Born July 12, 1941 in Lexington, VA, she was the daughter of the late Herman Morris and was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Dwayne Chaplin; a brother, Herman Morris, Jr.; a sister, Patricia Bennington and a granddaughter, Brandy Lewis. Mrs. Chaplin was a member of the Elon Ruritan Club, the Seven Hills Art Club and was very active in her community. She was retired from Scott Insurance Company and was an active and longtime member of Elon Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Chaplin is survived by a son, Chris M. Chaplin; a daughter, Lynn Chaplin, both of Madison Heights and Torrie Camden, who was like a daughter to her; four grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Chaplin, J.C. Fore, Josh Fore, and Justin Fore; two great-grandchildren, Fisher Carter and Marley Carter; a niece, Robin Ellis and husband Chris; two nephews, Alex Bennington and wife Mia and Jason Morris. She is also survived by a former daughter-in-law, Wanda Davis and Brandy’s father, Vincent Lewis.
A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Elon Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Barry Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the church and other times at the residence.
