

Born June 30, 1928 in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bland and Stella Howell Massie. Mrs. Fix retired from Virginia Baptist Hospital, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fix is survived by three sons, Stuart Fix and wife April, Orrin H. Fix and wife Eretta, both of Monroe, and Tony A. Fix and wife Michele of Lynchburg; two daughters, Mavis F. Phillips and husband Marvin of Lynchburg, and Bridget F. Woods and husband Mike of Monroe; three brothers, Norman Massie and wife Naomi, Dallas Massie, and Alvin Massie and wife Judy, all of Monroe; three sisters, Ocie M. Jones and husband Henry of Gladstone, Jean M. Weigand and husband Leo, and Stella M. (Flo) Harlowe, both of Monroe; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Peyton Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
