Franklin Lee Thomason Sr.

Franklin Lee Thomason, Sr., 64, of Madison Heights, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Baber Thomason.

Born October 18, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Fred L. and Virginia Albin Thomason. He was retired from Weyerhauser and was a member of In His Hand Ministry.

Mr. Thomason is survived by one son, Franklin L. (Spanky) Thomason, Jr. of Madison Heights and his fiancee, Lisa Johnson; one daughter, Lisa Lambert of Lynchburg; one brother, Edward Thomason and wife, Bonnie of Madison Heights; two sisters, Ella Mae Warden and Barbara Thomason, both of West Virginia; eight grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Lefler Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Stuart Mitchell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
