

Born March 19, 1929 in Washington County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Edgar John Long and Leo Clifton Long and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Wynegar and Inez Eades. Mrs. Willis was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Willis is survived by ten children, Roger Willis and wife Kathy of Meadowview, Phyllis W. Seward and husband Ernest of Lynchburg; Randy Willis of Damascas, Kay W. Wise of Bristol, VA, Mike Willis and wife Vicki of Lynchburg, Barry Willis and wife Darla of Meadowview, Betty W. Cooke and husband Craig of Lynchburg, Sandy W. Micklem and husband Glenn of Madison Heights, Hopie W. Irvin and husband PeeWee of Madison Heights, and Jo Anne W. Coffey of Madison Heights, David White of Madison Heights and Sharon Cash of Lynchburg, Gay thought of as her children. She is also survived by one brother, Billy Jack Long and wife Violet of Abingdon; one sister, Carolyn L. Lunsford and husband Carl of Abingdon; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-four great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Jacob Uthup officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2015 at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens in Abingdon, VA.
