I am sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We always had fun talking about cars and guns. He always had a goofy story to tell or some crazy scheme to make money. Whenever we'd talk the first thing he'd ask was, "Did you find me a Fox [shotgun]?" I will miss talking to him. My condolences on your loss.

Dave and I became friends instantly and roommates when he walked into my billeting office at the NATO Base in Pristina, Kosovo. We started talking and between us we had 22 classic cars. I ended up with collateral duty as part of BG Jay Hoods Personal Security Team, we were joined at the hip for a year, If the General saw us it was "Where's Mosteller or Where's Mulvey" If one of us wasn't there. We again shared time when I was attached to Naval Special Warfare in Little Creek, and Dave was attached to NATO SHAPE in Norfolk. He talked me into buying and living on a 34ft fishing boat "cheaper than Apt rent" he had just bought a 24ft sail boat. We end up a different marinas three blocks apart and had dinner together at least 3x a week. He was my best friend since 2000 in Kosovo and we talked 1-2x a week ever since and I will miss him a great deal, there is a HUGE voild left in me by his passing but I very very privileged to have his as my friend.

1SG Mosteller, was an inspirational man. He always put a smile on peoples face, he always had a story to share, and he always had words of encouragement for other and was a leader till the end. I will miss you 1SG. I will always remember you. Rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened to hear of David's passing. I first met him as a fellow shotgun collector and later we got together when he was stationed at NATO in Norfolk. A fine soldier and great fellow.I will miss you my friend.

I write this with a very heavy heart and shock!  We at L.oppleman pawnshop have lost a friend! It was always a joy to see this young man walk into the store for the past 15 years!  He would talk to us about his life and work in the service for which he took a lot of pride.... his love for cars, which brought out that big smile and laughter and you could not miss the excitement in his voice.... his adventure in buying a sailboat and having to sail it from NC to Va beach.... he made us laugh,  he made us proud!   but most of all he allowed us to be his family..... and with that,  we feel the pain and loss.... You will be truly miss...  It was a pleasure and a blessing knowing you,  David!   May God find something that would keep you going with all that excitement that come so naturally from your heart..... Rest for a while my friend..... Jean Alstad

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Mosteller. We served together at Fort Bragg in the 504th PIR.  Dave was a friend, and Brother that I will never forget and my service to our Country was better for having none him.  Rest in Peace Dave, and I will see you in the final assembly area.
