George Herbert Nichols Jr.

Rusty was born in Shirley, MA to Marie Albertha and George Herbert Nichols Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife Camilla “Connie” Nichols to whom he was happily married to for 73 years; three daughters Coleen (David), Karen (Ray), and Kirsten (Dallas); five granddaughters Autumn (Jordan), Kimberly, Sarina (Drew), Jessica (Bruce), Jennifer; and 4 great granddaughters. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Ruth Marchelletta and brother, John LePage.

As a teenager, he proudly served in the Civil Air Patrol. During WWII, he served in the Navy on the USS Currier DE-700. He was a printer on the cutting edge of developing techniques, still used today. He was a lifelong woodworker. He also spent time as a rescue scuba diver. After retiring at the age 80, he proudly volunteered with Hospice where he honored fellow veterans. Rusty never met a stranger that wasn’t a friend.

As he would say, “You know what?”…We love you!

A funeral service for George will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights, Virginia. with the Rev. Donald Stine officiating. Interment will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
