Gloria Wood Brightwell

Born February 8, 1923 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Norman and Minnie Wood and was also preceded in death by three brother, Arthur Clyde Wood, Clarence Wood, and David Wood; two sisters, Dorothy W. Eubank and Norma Stinnette and a grandson, Sean Duff.

Mrs. Brightwell is survived by one son, Robert Brightwell and wife, Kathy : three daughters, Lessie Cook and husband Dale and Kim Hedrick and husband, Jeff, all of Madison Heights and Rebecca Duff of Orlando, FL; one brother, Clayton Wood and wife Marion, of Madison Heights; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012 at Sandy Bottom Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
