He was born on December 11, 1938 in Amherst County, Virginia, son of the late Clarence Edward Eubank and Ruth Burks Eubank.
Harry was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Eubank.
He was devoted to his wife, family and his church, Living Water Baptist. He loved the Lord and was steadfast in his faith. Harry was the retired owner of Eubank Food Store. Following his retirement from the store, he worked for Pride of Virginia Wholesale Foods. When not working, he was into many different things as he was always known as a “jack of many trades”. He also proudly served in the Virginia National Guard earning the rank of Staff Sergeant, HHC 116th Infantry Regiment. He loved baseball, especially the NY Yankees and coached baseball with Dixie Youth Ball League and was its past President. His other enjoyments in life were NASCAR racing, being a Jeff Gordon fan as well as that of John Wayne and Elvis Presley.
In addition to his wife Shirley to whom he had been married for over 62 years, he is survived by his children, Harry Thomas Eubank, Jr., Robin Lynn Eubank, and Retired Col Mark Stephen Eubank and his wife Catherine; grandchildren, Daniel Stephen Eubank, Rebekkah Ruth Eubank, and Jonathan Thomas Eubank; three brothers, William, Joseph, and Henry Eubank. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Cocoa.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Daryl Donald officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
