Henry Lane Allen, a beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away unexpectedly, September 12, 2018 at the young age of 67. Henry is survived by his wife, Valeria L. Allen; his Children, Henry “H.L.” Allen, II and wife Heather, of Madison Heights, VA; Chris Allen and wife Elisa, of Jefferson City, TN; granddaughters, Jordan, Madison, Cara, and Charley Allen; grandsons Casey and Chase Allen; sister Bettie Sue Jennings, brothers, Raymond, Robert, Edward, Kenneth, and Joe Allen. He was preceded in death by his mother Roxie Allen Brown; father Eldridge Bea Allen, and stepfather Willie Brown; brothers Jimmy and Eldridge Allen, and sister, Roxie Ann Allen. Henry was born on April 20, 1951 in Henry County, VA and moved to Amherst County when he was 3 years old. In 1969, Henry went to work of Babcock & Wilcox, where he went on to serve for 33 years as a Manufacturing Engineer. Henry was a devoted father and grandfather; the most important part of Henry’s life was undoubtedly his family. The mere mention of his kids or grandkids would make his eyes light up, and a genuine smile spread across his face. In addition to his immediate family, Henry enjoyed close relationships with many of his nieces and nephews; Henry lived as a role model to all that he touched. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Elon Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barry Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
