Born in Lynchburg on February 11, 1952 he was a son of the late Billy Hughes, Sr. and Frances Hughes. Bubbles was a retired Iron pourer with Archer Creek Foundry and a member of WFO Racing.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hughes.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, James Hughes, Jr (Jenny) and Brian Hughes (LeeAnn) both of Forest; a brother, Billy Hughes, Jr. (Shelby) of Rustburg; five grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, Kendall, Samantha, and Ashtyn; and a great-grandson, Noah.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the residence.
