

Born in Nelson County, August 14, 1928, he was a son of the late Otha McFadden and Mary Alice Jennings McFadden. He was retired from the US Navy with 20 years of service and proudly served during both the Korean conflict and the Viet Nam war. He was a member of the Church of God World Wide Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James E. McFadden and wife Shelia and Steven McFadden and wife Vicki all of Howardsville; one daughter, Dora M. Eanes of Pamplin; six step children Kathy Carroll, Judy Ellis, Janice Staton, Jennifer Moore, Ted Staton and Daniel Staton; one brother, S.T. McFadden, Elsie Price, Anna Dixon and Ella Baldock and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Gladstone Cemetery with the Pastor John Foster officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 104 and VFW Post 9855.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Whitten Monelison Chapel.
