Jamie Lang Curd

Born in Lynchburg on February 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Howard Clayton Lang and Mary Ann Bibb Lang Bryant.

Jamie devoted much of her life to the people she loved most. For 57 years, she shared her life with her husband, Danny Ray Curd, building a home and family that were a source of great pride and happiness to her. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and nothing brought her greater joy than being a grandmother. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and took great pride in each of them. Her family was truly at the center of her life, and the love and care she gave them will remain an important part of her legacy.

Jamie enjoyed a successful career in banking that spanned 27 years before retiring from BB&T. In addition to her professional career, she worked alongside her family for many years helping to manage the family farm. Whether at work, on the farm, or at home, Jamie was dependable, hardworking, and deeply committed to those who counted on her. She also valued the friendships she formed throughout her life. She especially enjoyed spending time and sharing lunch with her dear friends, Barbara Briggs and Simone Manis, and treasured the lifelong friendships she shared with Delores Tinsley and Robert Crowder.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Danny Ray Curd; her son, Robert Curd and his wife, Heidi; four beloved grandchildren, William Curd, Aiden Curd, Carrington Curd and Porter Curd; her sister, Nancy Melkerson and her husband, John; and a special niece, Sabrina Saunders.

A memorial service celebrating Jamie's life will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the W.T. Curd and the Rev. Larry Fitzgerald officiating.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
