Jeffrey Reed Ostrander

December 18, 1959 – August 19, 2025
Obituary of Jeffrey Reed Ostrander
IN THE CARE OF

Whitten Monelison Chapel

Jeffrey Reed Ostrander, 65, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his residence after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born on December 18, 1959, in Richmond, he was the son of the late James and Alma Ostrander. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ostrander.

Jeff was a friend to all and had a deeply rooted Christian faith. He was happiest when he was spending time in the great outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, coaching baseball or tending to the garden. He also had a strong artistic ability and enjoyed spending time painting and drawing. He was a Machinist by trade for 37 years until his illness rendered him unable.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Ostrander; two sons, Jeffrey Ostrander (Jessica), Josh Ostrander (Abby); daughter, Rachel Kay (Evan); grandchildren, Harper, Adalynn, Finnlee, Levi and Colton Ostrander and Whitney and Micah Kay; a sister, Robin Chabot (Sherwood); a brother, Steve Ostrander (Barbara); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following Doctors and Nurses for all the love and care shown to Jeff over the years, Centra Hospice and Nurse Brooke, CMG Amherst Dr. Shawn Hayes and Addie Marks NP, UVA Adult Neurology Alex King NP and Dr. William Dalrymple.

The family asks any memorial contributions be made to two organizations that had a major impact on Jeff during his journey with Parkinson’s Disease, powerforparkinsons.org and parkinsonvoiceproject.org.
