Jimmy Lee Gunter

Jimmy Lee Gunter, 63, of Madison Heights, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Connie French Gunter for 44 years. Born on December 18, 1954 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late George Gunter and Dorothy Mitchell. Jimmy worked at Lynchburg Foundry for 35 years and was employed by Clifford Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, and was considered a handyman, as he enjoyed working on and fixing things. In addition to his birth parents, he is preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Douglas and Florence Jordan, who raised him. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Connie; daughters, Kelly Martin and husband Mike and Leigh Ann Hines and husband Chris; five grandchildren, Kaylyn Glass and husband Hunter, Michael Martin, Isabelle Martin, Kathryn Hines, and Adam Hines; siblings, Donald Jordan, Judy Anderson, and David Jordan; half-sister, Becky Donelson; and numerous other family members and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Clifford Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends following the service till 7:30 pm.
