
John Lee Parker, Jr., 80, of Monroe, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Vergie Coffey Parker.
Born February 1, 1930 in Richmond, he was the son of the late John Lee Parker, Sr. and the late Emily Rouzie Parker. He was retired from Nabisco with eighteen years of service and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Parker attended First Baptist Church of Monroe.
He is survived by three step-children, Viola Robson and husband, Charles of North Carolina, Raymond Woodring and wife, Lois and Carolyn Harper, all of West Point; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at El Bethel Cemetery in Allwood with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating.
