Jerry was born September 14, 1943, son of Mack R. and Roberta P. Sitton, who preceded him in death. He was retired from G.E. and B&W
He is survived by his wife, Anne C. Sitton and his son, John W. Sitton, Jr. and his precious daughter-in-law, Sarah and the two little loves of his life, grandchildren, Schyler and Garrett Sitton. He is also survived by one brother; two sisters and nieces and nephews.
Jerry fought many demons in his life. He was proudly sober for fifteen years, working faithfully in Alcoholics Anonymous and he loved his AA family.
This last demon that attacked his body he knew he couldn’t win. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Dementia in March.
Jerry loved his family the best he could, but he is now at peace for the first time in his life.
He was an avid REDSKINS fan and if you ever saw Jerry, he was dressed in Redskins clothes.
Jerry was not a “big deal” person, so with that in mind, his family has agreed on no public viewing.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest with the Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service, at the cemetery.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Jerry, please consider Calvary U.M. Church in Winfall or give to someone you know who has a need.
