

Judith Towers Simpson, 72, of Amherst, passed away, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the home of her son, Wayne. She was the wife of the late Wayne Board Simpson, Sr.
Born October 31, 1938 in Queen Anne, MD, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Towers, Sr. and Velma Hunter Towers and was also preceded in death by a son, Mike Simpson. She was a retired machine operator with Intercon and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by two sons, Wayne B. Simpson, Jr. and wife, Deanna of Amherst and Timothy L. Simpson and wife, Anita of Columbia, VA; two brothers, John Towers and wife, Verona and William L. Towers, Jr.; two sisters, Helen T. Dill of Wye Mills, MD and Faye T. Rogers and husband, Joe of Milford, DE and six grandchildren, Christina Durham and husband, Michael, Mary Beth Simpson, both of Amherst, Amber Nicole Simpson and Kenneth W. Simpson, both of Columbia, VA and Michael Simpson, Jr. and Joshua Simpson, both of Richmond.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Chaplain Miriam Dakin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of Wayne and Deanna.
