Born in Lynchburg, March 6, 1957, he was the son of the late Ralph Ogden and Virginia Irene Camden Ogden. He was also preceded in death by his brother Timothy Ray Ogden.
Larry was a foreman with Commercial Steel where he had been employed for the past twenty years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a passion for motorcycles and was a member of the Harley Owners Group. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jonathan Ogden and his wife Katie and their children, Leighanna Mae and Nathaniel “Rootie” Ogden all of Goode; his daughter, Sarah Ogden Davis and her husband Cerrone and their children, Emma Irene, Camryn June, Keira “Keke”, Bailey Miller and Makayla Davis all of Lynchburg; his daughter, Tracey Sloan and her husband Kenny of Buchanan and their children, Shelley, Christopher and Tiffany Sloan; one great grandchild, Timber Sloan; two sisters, Teresa Maddox and husband Rick and Ann Patterson and husband Wayne all of Madison Heights; two brothers, Ricky Ogden of Madison Heights and R.C. Ogden and his wife Nan of Lynchburg; his father-in-law, Charles Clark of Lynchburg and his mother-in-law, Helen Elliott of Concord.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Pastor Brandon Baber officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
