

Born March 27, 1955, in Lynchburg, he was the son of Audrey Stinnette Padgett of Madison Heights, and the late Lewis Graham Padgett and was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Danny Hughes. Larry was a retired driver and diesel mechanic with Ryder Transportation with twenty-eight years of service. He also retired from the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department with twenty-six years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Angela Smith and husband, Damien, of Evington, and Vicky Kilbourn and husband, Billy, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers, Carroll “Bill” Padgett and wife, Vickie, Ronald Padgett and wife, Brenda, Gary Padgett, and Michael “Mike” Padgett and wife, Dale, all of Madison Heights; eight grandchildren; his best friend, Matt Eubank and fiancée, Lisa, of Evington; and many loved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Emmett and Frances Hughes; a brother-in-law, Randy Hughes; and Larry’s beloved four legged child, Beauty.
Larry was preceded in death by Smoky and Dolly, his other four legged children.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Whitten Monelison Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
