

Lee Roy Campbell, Sr., 81, of Madison Heights, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Shelby Allen Campbell for sixty-one years.
Born September 6, 1935 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Willie Lowell and Lottie Mae Campbell and was also preceded in death by five siblings, Sadie Neighbors, Charlene Lewis, William Ray Campbell, Helen Campbell, and Paige Campbell. Mr. Campbell was retired from Southeast Vinyl and was a member of Sardis U.M. Church. He attended Elon Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Campbell is survived by four sons, Lee Roy Campbell, Jr. and wife Tammy, Tony R. Campbell and wife Donna, Keith R. Campbell and wife Kelly, all of Madison Heights and Eric Ryan Campbell and wife Sonya of Rustburg; a sister, Jewel Bomar and husband Hale of Florence, Miss. and a brother Clyde Campbell and wife Wanda of Amherst.
Mr. Campbell also leaves to cherish his memory, seven grandchildren, Carrie, Brandon, Cassie, Bryce, Haley, AmyRyan, and Evelyn; nine great-grandchildren, Avery, Calla, Colton, Kynslee, Collin, Knox, Kinley, Reese, and Weston and numerous special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon), Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Elon Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barry Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and other times at the residence.
